Italy is unusual in Europe in having two established civil-society organisations specifically for cult-related harm — CeSAP (Centro Studi Abusi Psicologici), which provides psychological and legal support, and FAVIS, the association of families of sect victims — alongside the Polizia di Stato's Squadra Anti Sette (SAS), a specialised unit handling crimes committed within sects and esoteric groups.
The national 1522 line (free, 24/7) covers violence against women and stalking, and Telefono Azzurro is the long-standing children's helpline. Telefono Amico Italia provides general emotional support.
